What is Givv?
Givv is a technology venture that will help close the funding gap and accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. Givv enables individuals, for profit and non-profit organisations to generate earnings from the idle capacity in their computers, at no extra cost, to fund causes that matter to them. Givv also offers a new tool for non-profits to access large-scale grassroots fundraising and expand their community of donors.
Givv is a global, decentralized cloud computing service that combines blockchain, advanced software technology and artificial intelligence to transform the idle computing power around the world into a vast pool of cloud computing capacity. Givv aggregates and markets this capacity to private companies and government institutions globally in need of cloud computing services. Revenues are then directed to non-profit organisations, local or global, chosen by the individual or corporation supplying the idle capacity.
There are about 1.5 billion computers in the world and most are idle for at least 12 hours a day. If moderately used in idle time, each computer – at home or in the office – can generate up to US$ 10/month running a myriad of cloud computing applications, such as data analysis, gaming, artificial intelligence systems, among others. Representing a vast and underutilized resource.
Givv unlocks this untapped economic resource and directs it to improving the state of the world.
